The “2024 Computer Information Convergence ICT Technology Seminar” to lead the development and future of Jeollanam-do’s ICT industry was successfully completed at Cheongam University (Acting President Kim Seong-hong) on October 25, 2024. This seminar was attended by approximately 100 local ICT experts and served as an opportunity to explore the direction of the future ICT industry by forming local, industrial, and academic networks and presenting the latest technological trends and convergence strategies.
This event, hosted by the "Corporate Disaster and Safety Management Specialist Training Center (Director Kang In-won)" of Cheongam University and organized by the "Department of Computer Information Convergence (Department Head Choi Woo-jin)," brought together technology leaders from ICT companies in Jeollanam-do to discuss the trends and future of the global ICT industry and present various perspectives on the development of innovative technologies. In particular, Yang Jin-mo, Director of Jiranji Data, gave a presentation on "Personal Information Protection Using Artificial Intelligence" and Kim Hyeon-cheol, Director of Mirae Information, gave a presentation on "Major Disaster Punishment Act Key Issues and Response Measures," drawing great interest from the participants. Through these, the main issues and latest trends in ICT and related industries were covered in depth, providing the participants with new insights into the future.
This seminar was held for the third time, and its scale was expanded. About 40 technology leaders from not only local companies in Suncheon, Yeosu, and Gwangyang, such as IWORKS Co., Ltd., Human Entec Co., Ltd., Korea Institute of Engineering and Technology, Jeonnam Cloud Data Center Co., Ltd., Suncheon Drone Education Center, and Suncheon City Drone Football Association, but also Mokpo, Naju, and Gwangju Metropolitan City participated. In addition, the launching ceremony of the "Cheongam Information Industry Council (Chairman Kim Jin-soo)" was held at this event after companies participating in the "2023 Computer Information Convergence ICT Technology Seminar" discussed the need for a council that could represent the regional ICT. The "Cheongam Information Industry Council", which will serve as the focal point of the regional ICT, is expected to play an important role in helping the growth of related companies, developing the ICT convergence industry, promoting cooperation between industries, and working to foster regional ICT personnel, thereby helping regional ICT companies gain global competitiveness.
